Magnolia Landing believes that when families can focus on themselves and the therapeutic changes they need to make in their own lives, the whole family system heals. The loved one in treatment at Magnolia Landing is invited into the process during our three-day intensive family workshop.
The goal of our family workshop is to guide and teach more effective methods of communication, to strengthen family relationships and to encourage each family member to take care of themselves with healthier coping strategies.
Common themes of the workshop include:
- Grief and Loss
- Family of Origin
- Resentments and Resolution
- Toxic emotions of shame and guilt
- Communication strategies
Our hope is that family members leave the workshop with more effective tools, an ability to communicate honestly and a desire for further therapy and healing as a family. Over the three days, we will utilize several teaching and experiential modalities including didactic interactions, instructional sessions and multi-family experiences. Reading, writing assignments, viewing instructional videos and psychodrama will be part of this workshop experience.
We invite all family members who are supportive and actively participating in the treatment of a Magnolia Landing client to join us for the family workshop. Family members under the age of 18 are invited on a case-by-case basis.
