Magnolia Landing believes that addiction and trauma have emotional, physical, mental, spiritual and social aspects. We embrace a holistic approach, focused on strengthening each of these aspects.
Experiential therapy is one of the ways we treat the whole person. Meditation, yoga, breathwork and spirituality target nonverbal aspects of recovery and healing.
These experiential modalities allow our female clients to explore the connection between mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. They are empowered to take a deeper, more personal look at their vision of health and wellness.
Meditation allows women to become centered and aware of her body and surroundings. The women of Magnolia Landing participate daily in personal meditation as well as guided meditation three times a week.
Yoga allows individuals to experience a deeper awareness of their thoughts and actions; it has the ability to touch on every level of one’s being—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Studies show the practice of Yoga as a powerful and effective means for trauma victims; allowing them to calm their minds, experience emotions directly, and begin to feel a sense of strength and control.
Breathwork is a powerful and experiential body-focused technique, aiding our clients to clear their minds and reduce stress. Therapeutically, breathwork is essential in teaching women the importance of being in the moment and connecting spiritually.
Spirituality is another important aspect in recovery and healing the whole individual. Having a connection to a Higher Power and being able to personally define what that relationship means, allows for greater spiritual connection and self-worth. Thru this relationship and embracing the core values of perseverance, grace and dignity, women free themselves of shame, embrace their authentic self and find fulfillment thru loving themselves and helping others.
